Yours Robbie – aka Doctor Love from the name of my capsule radio show on air on the edgy and hard-rock rockandrollradio.it – is a 40something year-old gal, based in Milan but proudly born on the shores of Lake Como, in a tiny village that goes by the funny name of Bellano (which would be tricky to translate into English. Let me just say the Bell means Beautiful and Ano means butthole…). Lake people are renowned for being ‘spostati’ meaning in our lake slang weird, bizarre, unhinged misfits. And we FREAKing love it. I was therefore born in a land of storytellers, lunatics, poets, smugglers, fibbers, writers, drunkards … Instead of milk, we were raised with grappa in our feeder! That’s how I developed a gift for speech and particularly for languages, traveling with my boundless energy all over the globe. In my twenties I settled down for a couple of years in the green enchanted queer Eire, where I befriended, dated and fucked musicians, daredevils, elves to then move on to New York’s bright lights big city. Where I was struck by Jungle Fever… After losing my visa, along with quitted jobs and broken relationships, I headed back home, as the prodigal daughter, enrolled at University and got a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures, to soothe my very patient family. My examination board, my family and my friends were left speechless when I discussed my thesis on eroticism, gaily chatting about masturbation, ménage-a-trois, lesbianism, literary fuck festival and incest … And I snatched a big fat degree magna cum laude. After traveling more and embracing other adventures along my path, feeling reckless in my own skin and in my little Italy, and after several meaningless jobs, love affairs, encounters, matches/mismatches, little men, women, cats and dogs, I finally found my non straight and narrow path in writing. I first began as a translator for Rolling Stone Magazine, the legendary rock bible, for which I have worked for ten years and for which I was in charge of translating the column by Pamela Des Barres, aka Miss Pamela, the iconic groupie of rock’s Golden Age. Then I started writing for Men’s Health under a fake identity, narrating sordid female fantasies to be enjoyed by men. I even had my sex-column, called No Taboo Sex on a mainstream wellness magazine, where my edgy ‘deep throat’ was regularly censored. Yet I don’t give up. Never. Ever. And somehow I always get it my way and after searching, I landed on the legendary and revolutionary Playboy magazine, true emblem of free speech and saucy morals, for which I write a sex column called SEXCAPADES bringing on my life mission. Which is? My mission in life has always been to provoke and arouse jolly, responsible, conscious, inebriating, enjoyable SEX. As a matter of fact, my theme song has always been ‘Give It Away Give It Away Give It Away Now’ by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. And to quote one of my favorite movies of all times, The Big Lebowski, I will hereby let the mighty Maude Lebowski, played by the wonderful and talented Julianne Moore, express my philosophy: “My art has been commended as being strongly vaginal.” Trust your Doctor Love!
